Our O scale layout is located to the right of the front door.

HO Scale

Our main, and biggest layout is located in the middle of the museum.

N Scale

Our N Scale layout is located in the back right corner of the museum.

ABOUT
Founded in 1999 by the Kankakee Model Railroad Club under the direction of Glenn Johnson and Harold Woods. Located in the North End of the Historic Illinois Central Depot, thanks to the City of Kankakee in downtown Kankakee

Pullman

Pullman

Travel back in time aboard the pullman coach complete with a dining car. Our Pullman was built in 1947 for the Santa Fe and was modified to showcase what a typical dining car would look like during it’s time, as well as a coach section.

Caboose

Caboose

Our Union Pacific caboose was built in 1967, it was first numbered as UP 25673, and was later renumbered to UP 903014. It is a standard cupola type.

Trolley

Trolley

Our trolley was number 114 operated by the North Kankakee Electric Light & Railway Company. They sold the extra electricity to the City of Bradley. The company organized in 1892. Our trolley was built in 1932 by the McGuire-Cummings Co. It ran a north-south route from Merchant Street, in Kankakee to Olivet University in Bourbonnais.

Admission into the museum is free, if you wish to take a tour it is $2 a person.
